We already know that Black Widow is a certified badass, but is she even more powerful than we give her credit for? Fans of “The Avengers” movies already know and love Black Widow and already have an idea of how powerful she is. Still, Marvel’s recent details have shown that she is even more powerful and dangerous than we already knew.

Potentially with the ability to take out hundreds of enemies, superhumans, and possibly Thanos with just one devastating blow. But what is this ability, and how did Marvel keep it hidden for us all this time?

Unknown powers

Black Widow is a force to be reckoned with; some even suggest that she invented the term beast mode due to her “Red Room” training, which made her an exceptional and dangerous soldier capable of lining up alongside powerful superheroes such as Thor and The Hulk.

The Black Widow, named Natasha Romanov, can hold her own in a physical contest and has proved time and time again she is a worthy member of the Avengers. This is down to the dangerous weapons she has at her disposal, including the widow’s bite, a pistol, and her plain old fist.

However, there is one weapon that is stronger than what fans realized. Due to the recent piece of canon and punchy-titled fiction “The Wakanda Files,” we get further insight into the Black Widow’s abilities. As it turns out, her widow’s bite is not running at full capacity.

Fans may have forgotten the weapon, but it has been a feature since “Iron Man 2,” and we have seen it several times throughout the MCU. We can see her equipped with the accessory in the trailer for the eventually upcoming solo movie “Black Widow.”

Widow bite

But just because her weapon has been seen a lot throughout the MCU films, it does not mean the fans know much about it. Resident tech guru Shuri knows more about the weapon than we do. In “The Wakanda Files,” Shuri discovered several gadgets and pieces of tech that are used in the MCU, and one of the topics is Natasha’s infamous widow’s bite.

Shuri states that the weapon is only being used at its lowest capacity, and it is much more powerful than it seems. It even has the ability to kill people with ease. The weapon has the same mold as the stun gun, and Shuri comments that Natasha’s fellow Avengers T’Challa, also known as the Black Panther, only saw it being used at its lowest setting, which is 40,000 to 50,000 volts.

Shuri said that the side-effects of being hit by the widow’s bite could cause weakened or sore muscles, cramping, burns, temporary nerve damage, and temporary lapses in consciousness. Its top capacity of 250,000 to 300,000 volts of electricity can cause the victim to suffer from permanent nerve damage, third degrees of burns, loss of vision, and even death.

This means that only superheroes such as Captain America, Thor, Captain Marvel, Wanda, and others with supernatural abilities can survive the blow. But even then, it could cause catastrophic damage. In fact, some theorized that the weapon is so powerful it could have taken out Thanos himself; he saw this that he incapacitated her early during “The Avengers: Infinity War” film.

“Black Widow” is scheduled for release in 2021, and fans are excited to see a whole new side of Natasha Romanov and explore her character and abilities.
